Geriatric health
Strength, balance, and confidence for later life — physiotherapy that supports independence, mobility, and quality of life as we age.
What geriatric physiotherapy is
Geriatric physiotherapy is physiotherapy designed around what matters in later life: keeping moving comfortably, staying steady on your feet, recovering well from setbacks, and holding on to the independence that’s important to you.
What a session looks like
- A conversation about what you want to be able to do. Walk to the shops, pick up the grandchildren, garden, travel — what does a good day look like?
- A practical assessment. Strength, balance, joint health, walking pattern.
- A plan that fits. Often a mix of pool work (which is gentle on joints and confidence-building for balance), land-based strengthening, and a few things you can do at home.
Who delivers it
Sasha Hunt holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Geriatric Health and brings a thoughtful, evidence-based approach to ageing well.
On falls
If you’ve had a fall or you’re worried about falling, that’s worth a conversation. Balance, strength, and confidence can all be improved with targeted work — and falls prevention is one of the areas where consistent physiotherapy makes a real difference for many older adults.
