Condition we treat

Lower back pain

One of the most common reasons adults come to physiotherapy. We work with both acute back pain and persistent, recurring low back issues.

Lower back pain in plain language

Lower back pain is the kind of problem most adults will deal with at some point. Some episodes settle in days. Others linger, come and go, or become a companion that quietly shapes the things you stop doing. Physiotherapy is useful across that whole range — different shapes of work for different shapes of pain.

How we work with lower back pain

  • A thorough first assessment. Movement, strength, joint mechanics, and a proper conversation about what’s going on for you.
  • Hands-on care where it helps. Soft-tissue work, joint mobilisation, and gentle release techniques.
  • A focused exercise plan. A small, specific set of movements you can do between sessions — not a long printout.
  • The pool, when it helps. Some patients find their back tolerates work in the water that feels impossible on land. We use that.

What to expect

We won’t promise a fix. What we will do is give you a clear plan, hands-on support, and an honest read on what we’re seeing as you progress.

Red flags worth knowing

If you have sudden severe back pain, weakness or numbness in your legs, loss of bladder or bowel control, fever, or unexplained weight loss, please contact your medical doctor or visit your nearest emergency department. Physiotherapy is not a substitute for emergency care.
