Paediatric & neurodevelopmental — physiotherapy at Epstein Hunt

Paediatric neurodevelopmental physiotherapy

This page covers the children we see whose needs sit in the neurodevelopmental space — cerebral palsy, autism (where movement and sensory work is helpful), developmental delays, and the wider group of conditions affecting how a child moves and engages with their body.

Cerebral palsy

For children with CP we combine MAES therapy, NDT, and aquatic work. (Full page: Cerebral palsy.)

Autism — movement and sensory work

Some children on the autism spectrum benefit from physiotherapy that supports motor coordination, body awareness, and sensory regulation. We meet each child where they are — sessions are unhurried, child-led, and built around what makes them comfortable. The heated pool is often a useful environment because it provides gentle, predictable sensory input.

Developmental delays

For children with delays in motor development — sitting, crawling, walking, running, jumping — physiotherapy supports the building blocks of movement.

How we work with families

Sessions are parent-inclusive. We want to understand what your child is working on at home, at school, and across their wider therapy team. What we do here should add to that, not duplicate it.

Perla Epstein leads our paediatric work, bringing advanced MAES training, NDT, and aquatic therapy together in a child-led approach.

A note on language and expectations

Children’s bodies and brains develop at their own pace. We will be careful with the language we use and clear about what we are and aren’t seeing — your child is not a project, and progress isn’t ours to promise.
