Neurodevelopmental treatment (NDT)
A hands-on paediatric and adult neurological approach for cerebral palsy, stroke, and other neurological conditions — restoring movement quality and function.
What NDT is
NDT — Neurodevelopmental Treatment, also known as the Bobath approach — is a hands-on physiotherapy framework for children and adults with neurological conditions. It focuses on movement quality, postural control, and helping the nervous system find more efficient ways to organise everyday tasks.
What a session looks like
- Movement assessment. What does the patient try to do, and how do they currently do it?
- Hands-on facilitation. The therapist supports and guides movement to help the nervous system experience better patterns.
- Active practice. Repetition that the patient (or family) can carry into daily life.
Who delivers it
Perla Epstein brings NDT into paediatric neurological care alongside MAES and aquatic therapy. She often works in the heated pool too, where the water makes complex movement work more accessible for some children.
On expectations
Neurological recovery and development happen at their own pace. We aim to support the small, consistent gains that matter for daily life, and we will be honest with you about what we are seeing.
